EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – City officials, developers and other partners gathered on Thursday to open the Newport Center, a mixed-use complex in East Providence, with more than 140 apartments and thousands of square feet of space commercial
The Newport Avenue complex, when completed, will consist of two four-story apartment buildings, with 142 units comprised of studios, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments.
“It’s always wonderful to see a developer like Schiavo Enterprises ready to invest in a project that will improve and create housing opportunities for current and future residents while expanding our tax base,” said Mayor Bob DaSilva.
Outside of housing, the project includes a 6,000 square foot convenience store / gas station, 19,000 square feet of retail space and 1,338 plants, including 51 trees, 100 conifers and 4,999 shrubs, grasses and flowers.
