A Central Florida man has been arrested after officials say he confessed to killing someone during questioning over a carjacking. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were contacted about a carjacking in the Texas Avenue and American Boulevard area on January 16. Deputies heard a man later identified as Alexander Acs cut a victim in the face with a box cutter before stealing. the victim’s car. This victim was taken to hospital and is expected to survive. Deputies tracked down Acs and began questioning him about the carjacking. During that interview, deputies say Acs confessed to the carjacking and told detectives he also killed someone. Officials say Acs then drove the deputies to the Palmetto Apartments at the 4400 block of S. Rio Grande Avenue, where this victim’s body was found. Acs told detectives the murder took place last week. According to detectives, Acs said he stayed with the victim and wanted to steal the victim’s gun. Officials have not yet identified the victim. Acs was incarcerated in the Orange County Jail on Monday for first-degree murder. Detectives are expected to add the charges of attempted murder and carjacking.
