Construction has begun on an eight-story, 189-unit, market-priced building in downtown Long Beach, officials said this week.
Broadstone Promenade, 201 The Promenade North, will offer one, two and three bedroom floor plans ranging from 545 to 1,289 square feet, as well as 10,000 square feet of retail space on the main floor. pavement. The building will also offer a fitness center, club room, swimming pool, rooftop terrace and coworking spaces, among other amenities.
The site was once a parking lot.
“This project adds much needed housing to our city and brings even more character and diversity to the heart of downtown Long Beach, connecting the boardwalk to Avenue of Pines,” Mayor Robert Garcia said in a statement. âThe distinctive design and location of the building at the corner of Broadway and the Promenade will create a dynamic focal point and bring vitality by adding active retail to street level.
The developers, meanwhile, said they were excited to contribute to the biggest construction boom downtown Long Beach has seen in recent years.
âAlliance is proud to be a small room in an on-going urban renaissance,â said Jonas Bronk, design director for Alliance Residential, âwith recent huge investments in civic, commercial and residential spaces downtown.
The authorities plan to complete the project in June 2023.
