STATEN ISLAND, NY — An apartment fire in the Brighton Houses on Monday afternoon prompted an FDNY response “at all levels.”

Firefighters extended a ladder to the fourth floor of the eight-story building, located at 778 Henderson Ave., just after 5 p.m. and worked to extinguish the blaze, which caused visible damage. FDNY vehicles lined Henderson Avenue leading to the location of the fire as concerned residents monitored the emergency response.

Dozens of firefighters were on the scene and several service members were seen inside the building.
