There is a large first responder presence in Tarentum early Thursday morning after a fire broke out at the Golden Towers Apartments. First responders were called to the 200 block of Allegheny Street around 3:15 a.m. The Allegheny County 911 dispatch said it was a three-alarm fire and there was no no transportation from the scene as of 4:11 a.m. A police officer at the scene told Action News of Pittsburgh 4 crew members a couch caught fire. The officer said the fire was now out. Golden Towers Apartments is part of the Allegheny County Housing Authority. According to the ACHA website, the building is eight stories tall and has 60 units.
