Police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot dead Thursday night at an apartment complex in Mill Creek.

Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting a possible shooting at an apartment in block 1100 on Mill Creek Boulevard at around 8:45 p.m.

Police said callers said they heard gunshots and loud voices.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found cartridge cases in the walkway of a building and bullet holes in a wall of an apartment.

Detectives discovered that a unit’s door was unlocked but no one was inside.

While the police were investigating, she received reports of a man with a gunshot wound in the lower torso who was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police say a preliminary investigation has revealed that there may be several suspicious suspects, but there are no known active threats to the public.

No other damage or injury was reported in the apartment complex.

The investigation remains ongoing.
