Builders are planning a new rental community on one of Dallas’ last vacant development sites along the North Central Expressway.
The 4-acre site is just north of Meadow Road on US Highway 75.
The construction site is adjacent to the Midtown Park redevelopment along Meadow Road, which has seen the construction of apartments, hotels and medical centers.
Dallas-based apartment company Lantower Residential plans to build a 353-unit, five-story rental community on the site, according to documents filed with the Dallas Plan Commission.
Designed by Dallas architect JHP, the apartment project is on the east side of US 75.
The development site was recently put up for sale by the Westcott family of Dallas. Commercial real estate company Avison Young marketed the site for sale.
The North Dallas Project is one of two new rental communities Lantower is working on in the area.
The developer is also planning a 413-unit apartment project in the West Love mixed-use development on Mockingbird Lane, near Dallas Love Field.
Lantower Residential has been in business since 2014. The company owns more than two dozen apartments in 12 major markets.
In North Texas, Lantower has rental communities in Dallas, Fairview, Lewisville, and Carrollton.
