Trei Real Estate has just started the rental process for its apartment complex on Fürstenberger Strasse in Berlin. The building is expected to be completed by the third quarter of this year. Trei is investing a total amount of 47 million euros in the building complex.

The three-party real estate division consists of 117 rental apartments on 7,360 m², and includes an underground car park with 25 spaces, 13 of which are equipped with an EV charging station. Construction began in June 2020 according to plans designed by Stephan Höhne Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH, an architectural firm also based in Berlin. The general contractor is Dressler Bau GmbH, while the property management will be provided by Apleona Real Estate Management GmbH. [we reported]. The commercial unit of 1,830 m² on the ground floor has already been let to Edeka. It is the same grocery chain that occupied the old building on the site, now demolished. “The old branch of Edeka was not at all efficient in its use of the site area. A low-rise supermarket occupied the same location which now hosts a newly constructed six-story building. Especially in attractive inner-city areas like Fürstenberger Strasse, potential for such land development should be exploited in order to alleviate the shortage of apartments and properties,” said Pepijn Morshuis, CEO of Trei.

The site at Fürstenberger Strasse 8 straddles the border between the central districts of Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin. “The surrounding parks and green spaces, including the popular Mauerpark and Humboldthain parks, offer future residents a wide variety of leisure and recreation options. A short walk of a few hundred meters will take you to Kastanienallee, a street lined with shops, boutiques and restaurants,” said René Westerheider, Head of Asset Management at Trei. Two tram stops, “Schwedter Strasse” and “Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark”, are located in the immediate vicinity. The journey to the city center from here takes 10 minutes to Alexanderplatz and around 15 minutes to Central Station.

Apartment rentals are also about to begin for another residential development in Trei, located just two kilometers away on Winsstrasse. A third complex of 240 apartments on Pappelallee, also around two kilometers away, was already completed in December 2020. This is another development which has replaced a single-storey supermarket with an apartment complex plus a integrated grocery store.
