VACAVILLE — The Planning Commission will hold a special virtual meeting at 6 p.m. Monday that will feature a public hearing on the Oak Grove Apartments.

The proposed plan is to build a new 60-unit apartment complex for affordable age-restricted senior housing on a 2.11-acre site at 475 W. Monte Vista Ave.

The site plan includes two three-story buildings with elevators, a 3,800 square foot community hall, a community garden with walking paths and tables, and 66 on-site parking spaces. Floor plans include one- and two-bedroom units that range in size from 600 square feet to 795 square feet.

Exterior materials consist of horizontal and vertical paneling and stucco cladding, with tile and copper metal accents. All units would be accessible to people aged 55 and over earning 50% or less of the region’s median income, with the exception of one management unit.

By simple motion, the commission could recommend that city council adopt the mitigated negative statement and approve the applications for zoning plan amendments, density bonuses and planned development.

Planning commission meetings can be watched live on the city’s website, www.cityofvacaville.com, the city’s YouTube account, or cable channel 26.
